Help AWC develop solutions for housing affordability and availability

Contact: Carl Schroeder, Shannon McClelland

AWC is convening a facilitated Housing Solutions Group to develop a set of proactive housing solutions to help address the pressing need for more affordable and available housing in our communities. This small group of city elected officials and staff will work through a facilitated process to develop policy proposals to present to the Legislature.

We are looking for diversity of perspectives and geographies to ensure that the unique regional housing challenges in our state are reflected and that a variety of solutions are considered. Ideal applicants will have a commitment to ensuring better housing outcomes in our state, perspectives formed by experience in your local situation, an ability to consider the situations of other communities, and a willingness to forge constructive compromise. This workgroup will also work with invited legislators and stakeholders across the housing development and advocacy spectrum.

This will be an accelerated process, aiming to begin in late July and conclude by the end of October, with four to six virtual meetings, each several hours in length. Applicants should be willing to prioritize attendance at the meetings, as scheduling will be a challenge.

To express your interest, please complete this brief questionnaire by July 20.
