Reduction in required reporting to State Auditor

Contact: Candice Bock, Sheila Gall

A bill related to required tax and fee reporting is on the move.

SB 5002, which removes required annual reporting on local tax levies and labor relations consultant fees and makes other technical changes to State Auditor duties, passed the House and now needs to return to the Senate to concur with the amendments made by the House. The House amendments pertained to performance audit requirements.

The bill also requires the Auditor to establish policies for local governments to immediately report loss of funds, loss of assets, or other illegal activity.
