AWC seeks feedback from member cities on preemption of regulating TNCs

Contact: Brandy DeLange, Brianna Morin

HB 2076, sponsored by Rep. Liz Berry (D–Seattle), seeks to provide uniform statewide regulations of transportation network companies (TNCs) and TNC drivers. However, the bill also preempts cities from imposing any new tax, fee, or change in rate. AWC reported on the adopted language here.

AWC is still seeking feedback from members on how this will impact your city. Please contact Brandy DeLange directly with your comments. Additionally, if you have concerns with this updated language, we ask that you reach out to your legislators to express your opposition to this preemption of cities.
