Complete Streets grant nominations now open

Contact: Maggie Douglas

The Department of Commerce (Commerce) is now accepting applications for nominations for the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) Complete Streets Awards. The program offers between $100,000 and $1 million grants to local governments that have a adopted a complete streets ordinance.

The TIB coordinates Complete Streets nominations from select state agencies and nonprofit organizations every two years. As a nominating agency, Commerce has created an application for cities and counties to demonstrate the practice of planning and building streets to accommodate multi-modal transportation options for all ages and abilities.

The TIB team will evaluate nominations based on policy quality, plan integration, community outreach and engagement, past project actions and future project plans. For more information, visit the TIB grants webpage.

Nomination applications are due October 1 and completed applications and any questions or comments should be submitted electronically to Kirsten Larsen.
