AWC partners with Ogden Murphy Wallace for small cell siting and FCC updates webinar

Contact: Candice Bock, Maggie Douglas

Telecommunications companies are asking cities around the country to accommodate small wireless technology to improve wireless access and build out the 5G system. This has resulted in pressure for cities to quickly permit wireless communication facilities with minimum regulation.

The FCC recently issued a series of guidance documents pertaining to wireless communication facilities and cable franchise agreements. The orders will likely have an effect on all Washington cities and the deployment of wireless communication facilities and connectivity.

AWC’s upcoming webinar will educate local jurisdictions regarding the new guidance and its effect on city telecommunications infrastructure. Specifically, the webinar will cover:

  • Recent court cases involving FCC rules and how they impact cities.
  • How to assess your city’ compliance with federal regulations.
  • An update on the FCC broadband initiatives and how it helps unserved and underserved areas.
  • The changing technological landscape and how it could impact your cities regulatory decisions.

The event is for city attorneys, city administrators/managers, community development and permitting staff, and telecommunications staff.

This webinar has been rescheduled for later this fall—stay tuned for updates!
