OLYMPIA – The AWC Risk Management Service Agency (RMSA) announced that Eatonville mayor Mike Schaub was recently elected to the position of vice president of the Board of Directors.

AWC RMSA is a full-service risk management choice for Washington’s cities and other municipal entities. RMSA offers comprehensive coverage for property and liability needs with a focus on proactive loss prevention, comprehensive claims management, and member training. Pool members include 99 cities and special purpose districts.

“I look forward to continuing my service on the RMSA board of directors in this leadership position,” said Schaub. “This is an opportunity to serve cities across our state on important issues of risk management.”

Schaub became mayor of Eatonville in 2014 and joined the RMSA Board of Directors in 2015.

The AWC RMSA is member-owned and governed by an interlocal agreement, bylaws, and the RMSA Board of Directors, comprised of seven elected officials from member entities. The RMSA Board sets policy, has the fiduciary responsibility for the pool, and contracts with the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) for administrative services.

AWC serves its members through advocacy, education, and services. Founded in 1933, AWC is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan corporation that advocates on behalf of cities and towns, provides training and pooling programs such as RMSA. AWC was created RMSA in 1987 to assist cities in meeting their property and liability needs.
