Be prepared for session — Catch these five helpful ideas:

  1. Develop your city’s legislative agenda and share it with the public, media, and legislators. For best results, do this before session begins.
  2. Make yourself a resource for your legislators now before they go to Olympia in January. Show them around city hall, share your challenges, and ask how you can connect with them during session.
  3. Work with your local media to tell your story before, during, and after session.
  4. Communicate with constituents about what’s going on in Olympia, how your city is faring, and what your legislators are doing for cities.
  5. Strive to become an AWC Advocacy All-Star. Your advocacy efforts during the legislative session could earn you this coveted AWC award!
