Drug & Alcohol Supervisor training

The U.S. Department of Transportation regulation mandates that all supervisors of CDL employees, transit or gas utility workers, or any employee who might consult on a reasonable suspicion determination must receive one-hour of training in drug awareness and one-hour of training in alcohol abuse. This training covers U.S. DOT mandates, federal updates, reasonable suspicion test, and more.

Drug Free Workplace Act training

As mandated by the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, all governmental agencies receiving federal grant monies must provide a drug-free workplace. Heightened attention in the wake of newly-adopted federal regulations and the official pronouncement of a national opioid epidemic has sparked closer scrutiny on updating drug & alcohol policies. Educating employees about their personal choices in off-hours that may affect their on-duty performance is important. Attendees will receive an updated Drug-Free Workplace Policy template, hear the latest trends in reasonable suspicion and post-accident testing scenarios and learn about employee’s accountability to your Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Drug-Free Workplace Act – customized training

Members of AWC’s D&A Consortium can schedule a customized Drug-Free Workplace Act training at your workplace. Employer Drug-Free Workplace Policy required at least one month in advance of your training. This training will give employees a refresher of your own Drug-Free Workplace policies, and will speak to their personal choices in off-hours that may impact their on-duty performance. Contact Melissa Shannon to for the costs and to schedule your onsite training.
