Indigenous Peoples’ Day is Oct. 10

Contact: Heidi Olmstead

Monday, October 10, is Indigenous Peoples' Day. Here are a few ideas for ways to celebrate Native American peoples and honor their experiences and cultures:

  • Get to know the many Tribes of Washington.
  • Discover which Indigenous lands you’re living on with this amazing interactive map.
  • Consider starting a meeting with a land acknowledgement to recognize the connection between Indigenous peoples and the land.
  • Attend a cultural event like the celebration that the City of Olympia is hosting in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day at Squaxin Park on October 10.
