SB 5110, sponsored by Sen. Doug Erickson (R–Ferndale), would limit local government authority when siting telecommunications
infrastructure. Components of this legislation include:
- Requiring local governments, including cities, to accept one consolidated application for small cell sites and one consolidated application for land use permits within a jurisdiction.
- Requiring a city to act upon a completed application for a master permit from 120 days to 60 days.
- Bars cities from placing or extending a moratorium on the acceptance and processing of applications for any facilities for personal wireless services.
AWC opposes this bill.
