While the deadline for spending Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) is still over a month away, cities have only requested reimbursement for about 15% of available funds to date.
AWC and the Department of Commerce are asking cities to submit at least one CRF reimbursement request to Commerce before the end of October. Submitting a request now will help staff be familiar with the reimbursement process as well as avoid any mistakes
come November that could delay or invalidate your city’s request. Additionally, submitting reimbursement requests now will help Commerce better determine how much of the overall funds may remain available for reallocation.
There are two upcoming critical deadlines that cities should be aware of:
- November 30: Last date cities may incur eligible expenses.
- December 15: Final date to submit online reimbursement requests.
If your city does not plan on using the entirety of its CRF allocation, please let Commerce now as soon as possible. The Department will reallocate your city’s funds to another area of need within the state.
