Contact: Candice Bock

AWC is recruiting city elected officials to serve on the Large City Advisory Committee to provide input in the legislative priorities-setting process and help guide the AWC Board of Directors as it sets the course for future activities and services.

The Large City Advisory Committee was created in 2015. The committee’s Statement of Purpose and member composition were recently updated by the Board of Directors.

Time commitment

The Large City Advisory Committee will meet at least twice per year—this may be a stand-alone meeting or in conjunction with an AWC conference. The committee also occasionally meets by conference call/web meeting.

Application process

The committee consists of 11 city officials representing cities over 50,000 in population. Positions are filled by mayors, city councilmembers, and/or city managers/administrators, appointed by the AWC President for two-year terms. If you are interested in serving on this committee, complete the AWC committee interest form.
