What does it mean to be on the AWC Board of Directors?

Read the Board of Directors overview of responsibilities for qualifications and time requirements. Please note: The AWC Bylaws requires that Board members must hold an elective office of some city or town within the state for a minimum of one year.

Who can apply?

Only elected officials from the AWC Board Districts with an open position are eligible to apply for the Board.

How do I apply?

The deadline to submit an application has passed. To run for the Board of Directors you will have to run for a position from the floor during AWC’s Annual Business Meeting, Thursday, June 28 in Yakima.

How does the nominations process work?

  • The AWC Nominating Committee meets on Friday, April 6 to review applications for the officer (president and vice president) and director positions.
  • The Nominating Committee meets again on Tuesday, June 26 in conjunction with the AWC Annual Conference in Yakima, to review potential candidates and compile the final list of nominated candidates. Candidates must be available for interview in Yakima on Tuesday, June 26. All candidates receive an interview time after the April 6 meeting.
  • The final candidate list is submitted to voting delegates during the AWC annual business meeting on Thursday, June 28.
