What is the dress code?

The dress code at conference is business or business casual attire.

How can I request disability accommodations?

The AWC Annual Conference strives to provide accessible educational opportunities for all individuals, including those with disabilities. Please contact Gina Abram at AWC, (360) 753-4137, at least seven business days prior to the Conference if any disability accommodations are needed. For TDD users, please use the state’s toll-free relay service, 800-833-6388, and ask the operator to dial the AWC number.

Is there a registration deadline?

You may register through June 22, 2018. After June 22, attendees are asked to register onsite in Yakima. The early bird rate ends on May 25, 2018.

Will my fee be refunded if I have to cancel my registration?

A $75 cancellation fee will be assessed for cancellations made after May 25, 2018. No refunds will be given for cancellation requests received after May 25, 2018. Cancellation requests must be submitted by email to registration@awcnet.org. Substitutions are gladly accepted at no extra charge, and at any time. Badge sharing or splitting is strictly prohibited.


If you have special dietary needs, please inform the staff at the registration kiosk at least two hours prior to a meal event. You will receive a special meal ticket to present to your server at the event. Unless prior arrangements are made, the serving staff will not be able to accommodate special requests. Menus for specific meals or events are posted near the AWC Registration Kiosk.

Parking at the Yakima Convention Center

The Yakima Convention Center features complimentary parking. Parking spaces are based upon availability.

Continuing education credits

Mayors and councilmembers that attend AWC’s Annual Conference can earn up to 10 credits for AWC’s Certificate of Municipal Leadership (CML) program. For more information on recording or tracking your CML credits contact Karen Tanner.
