Continuing education credits
Certificate of Municipal Leadership
AWC’s Certificate of Municipal Leadership (CML) program recognizes mayors and councilmembers for accomplishing training in five competency areas. In order to earn the certificate, municipal leaders must achieve a total of 30 credits and meet requirements in each of the following competency areas:
- E = Effective local leadership
- C = Community planning and development
- D = Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- P = Public sector resource management
- R = Roles, responsibilities, and legal requirements
We have made tracking your credits easy! Attendees will automatically receive 10 CML credits in the competency area of effective local leadership.
For elected officials tracking credits in specific competency areas, you'll be able to track your sessions and receive credit in the appropriate competency area.
