Billions in loans and grants for rural water infrastructure projects
An estimated $600+ billion is needed over the next 20 years to upgrade our nation’s water and wastewater systems. Many small and rural water systems lack access to affordable financing. But this year, USDA Rural Development has $4 billion in direct loans and $1 billion in grants now available to help rural communities build or upgrade their water infrastructure. More
WSDOT Consolidated Grant Program
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has approximately $62 million available in funding through their Consolidated Grant Program. Local governments are eligible to apply, and submissions are due on September 14. More

State Auditor billing rates
As of January 1, hourly billing rates for the Washington State Auditor’s Office local government audit work will go up from $95 to $100. The rate for fraud investigations will be $125, and the rate for auditors in travel status will be $75. These changes in billing rates are being introduced in order to fund salary increases for the auditor job classification. More
