Governor provides reopening guidance to local governments
In a June 19 memo, Gov. Inslee encouraged local governments to use the Safe Start Reopening Guide as a resource when developing plans to reopen local government offices. The guide was developed by several state agencies and includes information on prioritizing services, preparing facilities, screening employees and visitors, using face coverings, and training employees. Local government agencies are permitted to reopen under Phase 3 of the state’s reopening plan; however, telework remains strongly encouraged.

Governor’s proclamation permits expanded shared work program reimbursements
Through the CARES Act, the federal government will pick up 100% of the tab for state shared work programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, if state laws allow. Gov. Inslee’s Proclamation 20-58 allows Washington to take full advantage of the federal CARES funding and temporarily provides reimbursable employers with 100% reimbursement of costs instead of the statutory limit of 50% reimbursement. The expanded shared work reimbursement program will remain in place until July 19.
