Trueblood Taskforce seeks input from local government stakeholders
Washington State is in settlement discussions with the plaintiffs of the Trueblood case and is seeking input from cities. In 2015, a federal court found that deficiencies in the state's mental health system impaired the constitutional rights of criminal defendants whose mental illnesses may have impacted their ability to participate in their own defense. Parties in the case would like city perspectives on potential comprehensive changes to the behavioral health system to bring the state into compliance. Attend a stakeholder web meeting on May 1 to learn about developments and provide input. Email truebloodtaskforce@dshs.wa.gov if you plan to attend.
