The AWC Education Advisory Committee serves as a resource to help AWC staff identify educational opportunities, recognize educational accomplishments of elected officials, and determine educational delivery methods. City elected officials and non-elected officials are welcome to apply. Applications due January 18.

The AWC SMall City Advisory Committee serves as a resource to AWC staff, helping to identify issues and opportunities relevant to small cities. Find out more and submit your resume and letter of interest by January 18.

The Governor's Office seeks two city representatives to serve on the Public Works Board: An elected official and a public works manager. Visit AWC's website to learn more, including how to apply. Applications due January 20.

Washington officials appointed to NLC Committees
NLC’s Federal Advocacy committees play a key role in developing NLC’s federal policy positions and leading cities’ advocacy efforts in the other Washington. Thirteen Washington State mayors and councilmembers from NLC member cities were recently appointed to five NLC committees. These committee members include Kenmore Mayor David Baker, Vice Chair of the Information Technology and Communications Committee and Tukwila Councilmember Kate Kruller, Vice Chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee. Seattle Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda was also recently appointed to a NLC taskforce on housing and Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards as Vice Chair of the Council on Youth, Education, and Families. RCO No Child Left Inside grant program
The Legislature created the No Child Left Inside grant program to provide underserved youth with quality opportunities to experience the outdoors. The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) grant funds are available for outdoor environmental, ecological, agricultural, or other natural resource-based education and recreation programs serving youth.
