HB 1663, sponsored by Rep. Mike Chapman (D–Port Angeles), regulates the use of automated license plate recognition systems (ALPRS) by law enforcement and parking enforcement entities. Additionally, the bill makes ALPRS data inadmissible in court if obtained in violation of the act, creates a cause of action for violations of the act, and requires annual reporting by agencies using an ALPRS.

We’d like to hear if your city is using an ALPRS. Please contact Sharon or Shannon.
