Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) recently published its draft active transportation plan and is soliciting public feedback through Monday, February 15.
The proposed plan includes recommendations for more comprehensive multimodal transit options, offering options for users who walk, run, use a mobility assistive device such as a wheelchair, cycle, or use a small personal devise such as a foot scooter
or skateboard.
The draft is the first of a two-part plan: the first document details the purpose and need of a statewide active transportation plan, goals and benefits of active transportation, and concerns and priorities for plan development. Part two will be published
in late 2021. It will include performance measures associated with the plan’s goals, identification of policies relevant to analysis and implementation, and next steps for development and implementation.
To provide input in development of the active transportation plan, review the draft document and consider participating in one of three
informational webinars. To comment, please complete and return this form. Comments must be filed prior to 5 pm on Monday,
February 15, 2021.
