Autonomous Vehicle Work Group meets for final time this year

Contact: Logan Bahr, Shannon McClelland

The Washington Autonomous Vehicle Work Group wrapped up their work for the year. The group convened a meeting on September 26 where they discussed policy recommendations, reviewed recent research on autonomous vehicle (AV) safety technology, and discussed the strategic direction of the work group.

The group was created in 2018 to support the deployment and operation of driverless vehicles in the state. Voting membership of the group includes legislators, local government officials, and other transportation stakeholders. Sam Zimbabwe, the Director of the Seattle Department of Transportation, serves as the city representative to the group.
