AWC response to FCC franchise rule making

Contact: Andrew Pittelkau

AWC submitted a response to the FCC rule making process that will change how cable franchise fees are calculated. The proposed rules would change the definition of franchise fees and limiting franchise fee exclusions. These changes would decrease the amount of fees cable companies would pay in-lieu of other taxes and decrease public, educational, and government (PEG) channel capacity.

Thank you to all of the cities that either signed on to the AWC letter or submitted individual letters to the FCC.
