The Puget Sound Partnership (Partnership) is seeking public comment on the draft Action Agenda, which charts the course for Puget Sound recovery over the next four years. As always, this is a very substantial document representing input from a broad cross-section of stakeholders. It is broken into a comprehensive plan that articulates the long-term vision for Puget Sound recovery and an implementation plan that lays out the necessary near-term actions needed to make progress in the next four years towards the larger goal.
In the early years of the Partnership, we would frequently hear cities’ frustration that the Action Agenda did not provide them with actionable suggestions that they could take to positively participate in Puget Sound recovery.
In the early years of the Partnership, we would frequently hear cities’ frustration that the Action Agenda did not provide them with actionable suggestions that they could take to positively participate in Puget Sound recovery – despite acknowledgement that much of the progress in recovery was being implemented by local governments. Over the years, the Partnership has tried to improve in that regard. The recent updates include an enhanced focus on implementation. We would appreciate any thoughts you have on whether this proposal has improved in that area or any other thoughts you have on the content.
City of Shoreline Mayor Will Hall is an AWC Board member in addition to being chair of the Partnership’s Ecosystem Coordination Board (ECB). He is interested in any feedback from cities on the draft Action Agenda. The ECB advises the Puget Sound Leadership Council, which ultimately approves the Action Agenda. Please send any comments to Carl Schroeder and Shannon McClelland and we will compile them for Mayor Hall.
In addition to providing comments to AWC, please provide official comments to the Partnership. The comment period closes at midnight on October 15, 2018. For more information about the draft Action Agenda and how to submit public comments, visit the Partnership’s website.
