AWC is looking for city elected officials to serve on the 2025 AWC Board Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee recruits, interviews, and selects a list of potential candidates for election to the AWC Board of Directors at AWC’s Annual Conference in June.
According to AWC Bylaws, the Nominating Committee is comprised of seven to 11 members, representing cities throughout the state based on proportionate Board districts east and west of the Cascades. No more than two members from any one board district may serve.
Committee members must meet these qualifications:
- Hold a current elected city position for at least two years;
- Not run for a position on the AWC Board of Directors in 2025; and
- Be available to attend all meetings of the Nominating Committee, as noted below.
Time commitment
If you are appointed, you will be expected to attend the following 2025 Nominating Committee meetings:
- First meeting: Thursday, February 6, 2025, 9 – 11 am, online
- Second meeting: Tuesday, April 29, 2025, 9 – 11 am, online
- Interviews: Tuesday, June 24, 2025, 8 am – 5 pm, Kennewick (in conjunction with the AWC Annual Conference)
AWC reimburses Nominating Committee members for travel expenses in accordance with the AWC travel policy when attending in-person committee meetings.

If you would like to be considered for a position on the Nominating Committee complete the AWC committee interest form. Appointments are made by the AWC President and will be announced in December 2024.
