Dr. Lopez has 21 years experience in the field of drug and alcohol testing. He has been a full-time MRO free of clinical duties for 12 years. Dr. Lopez has gained experience with complex Medical Review Officer cases by collaborating closely with the leaders in the drug and alcohol industry.
A critical component to the workplace drug-testing program is the review of results by the certified Medical Review Officer (MRO). In addition to complying with federal regulations, use of the MRO serves to maintain medical confidentially of your employees.
The MRO will attempt to contact the donor at least three times, spaced reasonably in a 24-hour period of receiving the positive drug test result from the laboratory. The MRO may ask the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for help in contacting the employee if he is unable to contact the employee after the three attempts in 24 hours.
