A work group of city tax managers and finance directors has begun meeting to discuss required changes to the city B&O tax model ordinance to implement HB 1403 and HB 1059.

A work group of city tax managers and finance directors has begun meeting to discuss required changes to the city B&O tax model ordinance to implement HB 1403 and HB 1059.

Once the work group has completed drafting the updated city B&O tax model ordinance and proposed guidance on interpreting the changes later this month, AWC will share it with all B&O tax cities for their review and input. The update process will also include outreach to the business community for feedback, and AWC would encourage your city to reach out to your local chamber for feedback.

All cities with a local B&O tax will need to adopt the mandatory changes by January 1, 2020.

If your city has a B&O tax and is interested in participating on the AWC model ordinance work group’s conference calls, please contact Sheila Gall.
