On October 10, the City of Bothell hosted legislators and staff of the state’s Joint Transportation Committee for a presentation and tour of Bothell’s downtown economic development projects. AWC was pleased to partner with the City of Bothell to highlight the importance of the Local Infrastructure Financing Tool (LIFT) program to the progression of their projects.

Many cities like Bothell are doing remarkable work in supporting economic development in their communities. Bothell’s LIFT project is a great example of what can happen when the state and cities partner to incentivize economic development.

The LIFT program and similar value capture financing tools are key to assist in developing and modernizing local infrastructure to help spur economic development around the state. This is why AWC has made expanding economic development tools like value capture financing a legislative priority for the 2019 legislative session.
